GPS Shoes Expand into Canada
Safe Tracks
GPS Solutions, Inc. signs Distribution Agreement with GTX Corp and Aetrex
Worldwide
Los Angeles, January 16, 2013 – GTX
Corp (OTCBB: GTXO),
a leader in customizable, patented 2-way GPS solutions, has announced today that its award
winning, patented GPS tracking “Smart Shoe” will be commercially available in Canada
this month. The Shoes, known as the “Aetrex Navistar ™ GPS Shoes,” currently made under license by Aetrex Worldwide, Inc. (“Aetrex”), a global manufacturer and leader in comfort
footwear, will be distributed by Safe Tracks GPS
Solutions, Inc. (“Safe Tracks”),
a GPS electronic monitoring and
safety solution provider throughout Canada.
The Aetrex
Navistar™ GPS Shoes, powered
by GTX Corp, go on sale in Canada
this month through Safe Track’s e-commerce Website, www.safetracksgps.ca.
Further, Canada’s largest GSM cell phone provider, with over 9.2 million users servicing 95% of Canada’s
population, will be the Canadian wireless provider for the GPS Shoes.
“We have been following the development of the
GPS Smart Shoes and GTX since their U.S.
launch last year. Combining the Smart Shoe with our easy-to-use, web-based
software solution, will give end users an experience previously unavailable in
the Canadian Marketplace. Safe Tracks is proud to offer this new solution to
Canadians, especially for the Alzheimer’s and Dementia demographics,” stated
Bob Aloisio Director of Business Development at Safe Tracks.
According to the Alzheimer’s Society in
Toronto, an estimated 500,000 Canadians have Alzheimer's disease or a related
dementia condition, and within a generation, that number will more than double,
ranging between 1 and 1.3 million people. The impact of Alzheimer's and related
dementias involves the sufferer’s entire family, and thus affects far more than
the half million people who have been actually diagnosed with the disease. Alzheimer’s
disease is the second most feared disease for Canadians as they age.
The patented GTX Corp technology in the
Aetrex Navistar ™ GPS Shoes enable wearers to be monitored remotely, there by
helping to ensure their safety, providing peace of mind to their caregivers,
and reducing the cost of more frequent human oversight. The GPS Shoes are
embedded with a miniaturized proprietary module, which contains the locator’s integrated
GPS / Cellular chipset and the SIM card that is unique to each wearer.
The GPS Shoes will communicate via
Roger’s Canada cellular network, and send location coordinates via a wireless data
connection, similar to sending SMS messages on a cell phone. If the wearer of the GPS Shoes wanders
outside of a pre-set location determined by the caregiver, an SMS or e -mail message will
alert the caregiver instantly.
The GPS Shoes have been heralded by healthcare and technology authorities around
the world, and are featured in the “100 Most
Important Inventions of Mankind” exhibit in the National Museum of Science and Technology in Sweden.
“The
GPS Shoes are a simple solution to a growing problem. Other devices are either
too complicated or tend to be rejected by the Alzheimer’s and Dementia
sufferers, but the Aetrex Navistar GPS Shoes have proven to be a more friendly
and reliable means of keeping track of those who wander. As a result,
Alzheimer’s sufferers who wear the Shoes are receiving better care and enjoying
a more flexible lifestyle, while the cost of supervision they require is
reduced,” stated Andrew Duncan, GTX Corp’s head of
International licensing.

Firm Maps Out Future of GPS Tracking Devices
DECEMBER 3, 2012 NEWS & ANALYSIS LOS ANGELES BUSINESS
JOURNAL 11
LOGISTICS:
GTX makes case for
using product to trace luggage location.
New
GPS tracking devices
made by downtown L.A. company GTX
Corp. can be turned off remotely and turn themselves back on
based on how high they are or how fast they're
moving. That means they can be
packed with cargo in the belly of a plane, be put into sleep
mode before takeoff and
automatically wake up upon landing. Local logistics company MNX plans to use the devices to
track transplant organs and other sensitive cargo
shipped through the air, giving
hospitals and labs the ability to know when their shipments
have landed and when they should
arrive.
''They can tell the
hospital that the shipment is corning, that it's a block away,"
said Patrick
Bertagna, chief executive of GTX. Scott Cannon, chief executive
of Inglewood's MNX, already uses similar tracking devices from
another company, but he said GTX's trackers are
sturdier, more compact and were designed specifically for MNX.
"It offers an affordable
solution to our clients' needs," Cannon said. "Shipments can
be monitored and tracked in
real time, at all times." For now, GTX's trackers are
only approved by two airlines,
cargo carriers CargoLux Airlines International SA
of Sand weiler,
Luxembourg, and AirNet of Columbus,
Ohio, but Bertagna said the company will seek approval from
others.
GTX's biggest market is in
tracking devices for seniors with dementia and Alzheimer's
who might wander off. It
partners with a company that makes shoes with embedded GPS
trackers.
But approval from airlines
could help GTX get into the luggage business.
''About 8 million pieces of
luggage every year get lost," Bertagna said. "With this, you could
go online and find out your
baggage is in whatever city. Then the airline can call that airport and
say, 'Ship that to New York on the next
flight.'

date, caregivers who have used the Aetrex Navistar ™GPS Shoes are saying the following:
Sylvia Lett lived in
fear every time her father, wandered away from home. “The Aetrex GPS Shoes that
we purchased for our father is the best investment we have made. My father has always been a sharp dresser and he loved how
the shoes looked. His exact response was these shoes look rather snappy. My father can still walk 5 miles a day on a nice day. The
problem is he forgets how to get back and gets lost taking different ways. The
shoes have made our lives 1000 times better. Just knowing he is safe now
with the GPS shoes bring me to tears of gladness.”

billion - our GPS Shoes can free up precious resources to be used in other
critical areas.” stated Andrew Duncan, GTX Corp’s head of International licensing and Board Director.
According to Age UK, a leading charitable
organization dedicated to improving later-life quality; there are more than two
million older people in Britain who live at home, many of them dealing with some level of Dementia.
Mervyn Kohler, Special Advisor for Age UK, discussed in a recent
British Broadcasting Corporation interview why GPS technology is so important
for these people: “The universal message from the elderly population is that
they want to live independently in their own home. We have between 100,000 and
150,000 people entering care homes every year. We want to keep people alive and
successfully in their homes as long as possible, and this technology gives us a
bridge forward.”[i]
The Aetrex Navistar ™ GPS Shoes can make a major contribution to the worthy and
socially beneficial goal of keeping seniors safe while prolonging their stay in
their own homes.

Aging and Long-Term Care Policy Report Recently sent to CONGRESS mentions the GPS Shoe!
Aging services technology study identifies available technologies for Cognitive Impairment and evidence of their benefits. On page 69 the GPS Shoe is identified as a solution and discusses GPS monitoring technology:
In addition to their utility in detecting cognitive impairment, activity-monitoring technologies have also been used among people with established cognitive deficits. One example of this application is among patients who engage in dangerous behaviors such as wandering and elopement (Altus et al., 2000). Monitoring technologies mitigate the risks associated with these behaviors by facilitating remote patient monitoring. This approach not only provides physical security to the patient, but it also provides emotional security to caregivers and reduces caregiver burden by allowing the caregiver to monitor a loved one from a location of their choosing. A variety of technologies can be employed in patient monitoring systems. These include global positioning systems (GPS), radio frequency (RF) transmitters, and cellular-based tracking devices. In one system, a GPS is embedded in shoes that allow the user's location to be tracked with a secure subscriber’s portal. Other systems integrate more than one technology to address these behaviors. Assisted GPS systems (AGPS), which combine GPS and cellular tracking functionalities, can provide greater accuracy, availability, and coverage than standard GPS (Djuknic and Richton, 2001).
